R. Sian Owen completed her training in 1980 in Manchester, England, to become a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. She is a Registered Physiotherapist with over 20 years experience in the treatment of adult neurological conditions.
Sian is certified in
- Bobath and advanced NDT for neurological conditions (such as stroke or head injury).
- Integrative Manual Therapy techniques to combat problems such as relentless headaches or back pain.
- Reiki levels 1 and 2.
Sian has post graduate education in the assessment and treatment of orthopedic injuries and the rehabilitation of balance and dizziness in the neurologic client. She also has a BSc in Environmental Biology. Sian is passionate about music, particularly jazz piano.
Graduated from the 3 year massage therapy program at Centennial College in 2009. He is a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. His work experience is wide ranging, including hospitals, athletic centers, Variety Village and retirement homes. Zabi's approach is client-centred, and is therefore holistic and collaborative. Immediate reduction of pain and stress are key elements, but he will also work with you to develop longer term benefits such as postural re-alignment and the prevention of further injury.
Believing that one of life’s greatest gifts is to help people, Zabi has always wanted to be a part of the healing professions. He works well within a client-centred interdisciplinary setting at Sian Owen Physiotherapy.
With a background in business planning and consulting, Jean offers part-time support to Sian's office administration and processes, as well as web site design services. Jean has a specialized focus on working with the holistic/ healing and arts communities in her consulting practice. With a background in business process design and information technology, she understands the need to clearly communicate not only the important information about practitioners and services, but also to convey a sense of their vision and spirit through the visual energy of the web site.
Jean very much enjoys applying her administrative, business process and internet skills within the collaborative environment of Sian's physiotherapy office.
